Salamun Alaik..
Continuing my previous entry about Sabah trip, we were still in Kundasang. After our experience with the snake, we woke up the next morning with more pleasant surprise! The strong Mount Kinabalu! Subhanallah! It was tall and looked so strong. Our hotel was bad facilities one, but the scenery? It paid our money! We can clearly see the mountain from the hotel backyard. Because our breakfast is not included, we just had tuna sandwich and maggie mee for breakfast. It is more than enough. Luckily we bought some canned food and maggie all the way from Kota Kinabalu. Our breakfast was awesome with Mount Kinabalu scenery behind us. Something we wont trade with more expensive hotel.

After enjoying the scenery while having breakfast, we drove ourselves to Pekan Kundasang. There, we bought a lot of cheap breakfast. Nasi kuning, nasi lemak, and lot of kueh mueh for only Rm1.00 per pieces. For Rm1.00, you can get 3-4 pieces of kueh! We dont feel hungry yet, so we stuffed the food in the car and climbed up Kundasang War Memorial. You have to pay Rm 6.00 if Im not mistaken for entry. Kundasang War Memorial is a memorial for soldiers who died during the Death March to Ranau. They were British soldiers and they died under Japanese occupation. It was sad history and you can see their names were in the wall inside the memorial. The beautiful things at the memorial are, you can see various kinds of roses and flowers! The memorial was built just like English garden, you can see from the building architecture and the landscape. So we took a lof of pictures and videos too. But I wont show you a lot as the photos were taken before my hijrah. So, I put a lot of my friends' photos.

After Kundasang War Memorial, we went to Kinabalu Park. Edy was having a good negotiation with the guard, so we dont have to pay for our visit as Edy showed him our Poring tickets. ( You can visit Kinabalu Park and Poring Ranau using the same ticket where you only pay once. But the whole visit must be done in a day). In Kinabalu Park, we went to Timpohon Gate. Timpohon Gate is one of the gate to Mount Kinabalu. Timpohon Gate is much more easier and short compared to Mesilou Gate. We spent hours there to watch people going up using the Timpohom Gate. There, the breeze was cold and you can play around with the squirrels. Edy had a good time with the squirrels while us, the ladies only watching him feeding the mammals. They were tame and lovely. We fed them chocolate, definitely going to change their diet!

After the Timpohon Gate, we proceeded to have some lunch at "wakaf" in Kinabalu Park. It was awesome with cheap and tasty food with cool breeze. Nearly perfect! Alhamdullilah. Next, we went back to Pekan Kundasang and stopped by at the same market earlier! We ate cold durians, Edy went for a huge shopping, Nadia strolling around and Nani lingering around the market. After satisfied with the shopping, we went back to Seri Kinabalu Resort, had our solah, took a nap and ready to have our adventure again. Next we went to Kg Luanti to have some fresh Sabah popular tea! We nearly get lost with Waze but following our instincts, we managed to find the Tea Garden. The road was bumpy but the tea is nice. Then we headed back to the resort as the road quite scary at night. We spent our night leisurely. I read a bit about my research proposal and Nadia reviewing her notes. Nani decided to watch TV alone in our room while Edy made us maggie and some delicious caffein.
